There was a warm breeze and a cotton candy sky as the sun set over Duxbury Harbor. Joyful anticipation filled the air as dozens of loved ones gathered around for the first dance. If the sweetest moments of this summer were a string of pearls, Kayla and Brian’s classic New England summer wedding at Duxbury Bay Maritime School finished the strand in the most perfect way. First dances are always sweet, but this one was extra special. The magical start to “Everywhere” began to fill the sailcloth tent, and I couldn’t help but smile. I clicked my shutter as they made their entrance and my heart was so full. Of all the songs they could have chosen, it was one that has been on repeat for me all summer long. Now, it will forever remind me of this perfect day and this extra special couple.
Kayla and Brian are exactly the type of couple who I dreamed of serving when I launched KSP last year. From the moment I met them last October, I knew right then that we were a perfect fit. (I shared more of that story in their engagement session post, which can be read here.) They are incredibly gracious, genuine, and so very classic. They are the special type of people who make the most of this life, recognizing the special moments and slowing down to take it all in. Their wedding day was such a testament to that. Rather than hurrying through the day, we all paused throughout it to savor the moments as they were happening. From their faith-filled ceremony to the heartwarming toasts, all of our hearts were collectively bursting at the seams as we lived the moments right alongside them.
To Kayla and Brian:
Thank you for choosing me to capture your day and help you begin your family legacy. I am honored that I got to preserve these moments forever in time for you and your loved ones. Dillon and I are so incredibly grateful that we got to walk alongside you through it all. You are gold and will forever be so very special to us. My hope is that as you view these images, you will be transported back to the magic of these moments as you relive them for years to come.
