Welcome to the KSP blog, a place where I share my work, wisdom, and a peek into my everyday life. I'm so glad you're here and hope you stay awhile!

Hi! I'm Kyla.

It was so quiet, you could have heard a pin drop. Ashley’s dad was holding the mic before a captive audience of loved ones. He began to speak and there was soon hardly a dry eye in the room. He shared heartfelt stories about both Ashley and John. About their love for others and their selflessness, putting those around them first. His speech and the sentiments shared were my favorite part about this joyful summer wedding at Beauport Hotel. I’m excited to invite you into their day through this post!

Putting Others First

Ashley and John are two of the kindest and most humble people around. They love their families so much and have a village of friends and loved ones who adore them. Rather than make their day about them, they incorporated aspects of their upbringing and their communities into the details. From their rehearsal dinner and portraits at Ashley’s aunt and uncle’s house on the water in Gloucester to their accessories, they wove their families into their entire celebration.

It’s not every day that a couple gets to go back to their roots in a literal way on their wedding day. Ashley and John had that honor. Ashley put on her wedding dress in her childhood room. She shared a first look with her dad in the backyard of the home where her parents brought her home when she was born. John got ready in a family home, surrounded by the men who have championed him over the years. Ipswich and Essex and Gloucester are so special to both of them, and they incorporated into their day each of the places that helped to shape them. It was so special to be part of it!

To Ashley & John:

Thank you for choosing Dillon and I to capture your wedding day and your sweet engagement season. We’ve come to adore you two just as your loved ones do, and we’re so grateful to know you! Thank you for cultivating the kind of character that is hard-won and so special. You two are so incredibly loved and we are cheering you on so big as you begin newlywed life and savor the sweetness of this season together!
