It was a quiet February afternoon on the day of Hilary and Matt’s Public Garden winter engagement session. I had just parked and was walking through Copley when a few snowflakes landed on my lashes. We were meeting on the Beacon Hill side, at the very spot where they were engaged in November. They are from the South and I wondered how they would feel if it snowed through their session. Would it be too cold? Would they need several layers to stay warm? Or would they think the snow was absolutely magical and choose to embrace it?
I was so excited when I spotted them because their smiles said it all. We were all equally excited about the surprise snowfall. I was immediately impressed by their outfit choices, despite the cold. Hilary wore the sleekest little black dress, with gorgeous hair and makeup to match. She may be a Southern girl, but she did not skip a beat in the snow. Throughout their session, people stopped to applaud her style and how they both braved the cold. Their wedding will take place down South later this year, but they will forever and always have these Public Garden winter engagement portraits to commemorate winter in the city where she said yes to forever with him!
