Hi friends! I (Kyla) am introducing a beloved member of the KSP team today: my husband Dillon! Our sweet couples know and love Dillon and now it’s time for the blog to get to know him too. He wrote today’s post for a very special reason. He and Matt go way back, having met nearly two decades ago! Matt is the younger brother of one of our dearest friends and we are absolutely honored that he and Lika chose us to capture their day this fall. It seemed especially fitting to have Dillon write this post and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Lika & Matt: a sweet coastal engagement session

Spending time talking about marriage and married life with Matt and Lika was an absolute joy! This engagement session was extra exciting for me (Dillon) as I have known Matt for a long time. I’ve had the honor of joining Kyla as a second shooter for many wonderful engagement sessions and weddings.

Matt and Lika’s engagement session was filled with such intentional conversation. On the way to the beach, we all unpacked the exciting parts of wedding planning. The best part was when we dove below the surface to talk about married life. We discussed the importance of investing in marriage beyond the wedding day which is close to Kyla and I’s heart. Weddings are not the finish line, but rather the very start of married life! It was wonderful to see the strong roots that Matt and Lika are already building together. Their faith and open communication with each other are so encouraging to see. We can’t wait to see how God blesses them in this next part of their journey!

Crane Beach is quickly becoming one of my favorite locations to visit (Kyla would wholeheartedly agree!). Since Matt and Lika are adventurous souls, we tied that into their session. We first explored the dunes, capturing portraits with the sweeping landscape of Crane. All throughout, they both took time to share little windows into their love story. From the intentionality of Matt in the selection of the number of diamonds in Lika’s ring to preparation of their new home that they will be sharing together after their special day, we loved learning more about each of them. It was a beautiful day to build friendship with them and capture their genuine love and admiration for each other.

            Thank you for letting us join you for a small portion of your journey to marriage! We are so excited for both of you as you make plans and grow together. It was so clear after spending a few hours with you that you are a perfect fit for each other. Kyla and I are honored to capture your wedding day and we cannot wait to celebrate with you both. In the meantime, cherish every moment of this season of engagement and we will see you soon!
