“There are two times of year for me: football season, and waiting for football season.” This Darius Rucker quote is always top of mind in the Shattuck household when September rolls around. So naturally, the conversation between the guys flowed toward football during Lissa and Nick’s Essex County engagement session. Nick casually mentioned that he had a fantasy football draft that night. As in, a draft starting in the middle of the session. Friends – if only you could have heard the breaks screech in my mind at the moment. As a former fantasy football manager, I know that it is no small thing to miss a draft. A draft sets the tone for the whole season. Especially when you’re a football coach, like Nick! But that’s how much he loves Lissa.
Nick was willing to sacrifice his draft picks so he could share an evening with Lissa, twirling her in a field and making the most of their engagement milestone. It was easy to see why he loves her so much! Lissa is sweet as can be with a heart of gold. She is thoughtful, kind, and easy to connect with. Together, the two of them have the sweetest vision for their wedding day next year, centered on having all of their loves ones in the same place. We are honored that we get to be there to capture it all!
