just for you

Welcome to the KSP blog, a place where I share my work, wisdom, and a peek into my everyday life. I'm so glad you're here and hope you stay awhile!

Hi! I'm Kyla.

Firstly, if you are here because you are newly engaged, congratulations and welcome! I am so happy for you and am delighted that you’re here. And if you are here simply because you love weddings, you are in the right place, too! There are so many resources for brides and grooms to sift through during their engagement. It can be time-consuming to filter through all of the information out there and discern where to focus your time.

The Most Meaningful Things First

I often receive questions from engaged friends, such as:

  • Where should I start with wedding planning?
  • What do you wish you’d known when you were first engaged?
  • Is there anything you’d do differently if you were getting married now?
  • Which wedding planning binder should I purchase?

I have not only been a bride myself, but I also started working in the wedding industry almost 7 years ago. I have been blessed to be a part of dozens of weddings over the years, as both a photographer and a wedding planner. I’ve also spent years poring over wedding blogs and magazines (and was asked to write a snippet for the final issue of Southern Weddings!). I’ve gained lots of knowledge that I’d love to share.

However, instead of adding to the overwhelm, my heart is to simplify things for you. My goal is to help you to use your time well and savor this sweet season. How? By helping you to focus on the most meaningful things first!

Coffee Date, Anyone?

I really wish I could meet every newly-engaged bride at Starbucks. I would share my best advice and answer her questions while sipping a foamy cappuccino. But since that might be a bit logistically challenging, my heart is to do that virtually through my blog, instead. Plus, I will be able to help so many more brides this way!  In this blog series, I will share helpful resources for brides every Friday for the next few months. So go pick up your go-to Starbucks order and settle in for a virtual coffee chat of sorts, as I share from my heart to yours. I want you to feel supported and cared for – because you are! And I’m sipping coffee as I write this, so it’s kind of like we’re having a coffee date after all!

What You Can Expect

From this series, you can expect to receive my best advice and vetted resources for brides. My hope is not only to help you plan your wedding. I also want to help you prepare for a meaningful start to married life, far beyond your wedding day! I will share practical tips and takeaways so you can make progress in the wedding planning process and have fun along the way.

Who is This For?

While I wrote these posts with newly-engaged brides in mind, I think that any wedding enthusiasts will enjoy reading along, too! Whether you’re not yet married, have been married for years, or are in the midst of your engagement, I hope you will enjoy these posts as much as I enjoyed writing them!

We’re Going to Have SO Much Fun Together!

It is my heart to be a resource for brides because so much time and effort go into planning your wedding day. And there is so much more to this season than planning a wedding, too! At the end of the day, I hope you feel at home here, like you have a trusted friend to turn to as you savor this sweet season in your life!

Be sure to check back on the blog HERE next Friday for the very first post in the series, where I will share how to prepare well for marriage during your season of engagement. We’re going to have SO much fun together!

Love,

Kyla
