“I have a present for you!” were among the first words Liz said when we arrived to her bridal suite. I thought at first that she must have been addressing someone else because Dillon and I were there to serve and give, not receive. We had just met both mamas and the lovely bridesmaids and I was getting ready to capture her details. But instead of going straight into work mode in that moment, I instead got to delight in the friendship Liz and I have established. That is how gracious and kindhearted that she is. That is a dream come true for me, truly. It is my heart that we will always feel like dear friends to our couples on their wedding days. Liz and Tim were a reminder that we get to live out that dream!
Just a moment later, she handed me a beautifully-wrapped box adorned with the Mark and Graham logo. I’ve been swooning over that brand for as long as I can remember. After untying the ribbon and unfolding the tissue, I saw what is now one of my most cherished items. Inside was a custom-made leather clutch with the monogram “KSP” on it. (Liz, you are literally the most kind, gracious bride! This gift is – and will continue to be – very beloved!)
We have so many favorite moments from the rest of their wedding day at The Commons 1854. Liz and Tim’s day was just that good. They were carefree and focused on each other and their loved ones the entire time. Not once was there a moment of stress from them, their loved ones, or their vendor team. The day was instead smooth and joyful and lovely.
While I have numerous favorites from the day, a few moments in particular stand out most in my mind. The moment that Liz’s dad saw her for the first time was so sweet. It reminded me of that same moment with my dad six years ago. And I don’t think there was a dry eye in the courtyard when their grandparents first saw them. Just wait until you see the happy tears from their grandmother. That image makes me cry happy tears every time I look at it! It was also incredibly special to have three (!!!) KSP couples in one room at the same time. There’s an image in this post from the ceremony that fills my heart so much because it represents those couples all in one place at one time. There were hugs abounding the whole day through!
I’ll let this post speak for itself because I could wax poetic about how joyful this day was and I invite you to enjoy it yourself! 🙂
To Liz & Tim:
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for choosing us, pouring into us, and reminding us that weddings can really truly feel unhurried and so incredibly joyful. By focusing on each other and those around you, your day was marked by grace and a love that overflows. We haven’t stopped talking about it since we drove home that night and pray that we get to serve many more couples who put the first things first like you do. Thank you for believing in KSP from the earliest days and for sending us so.many.sweet.couples who we now get to love and serve. And as a result, cheers to many reunions for the four of us in the months and years to come! Dillon and I wish you both the most joyful start to married life and a magical newlywed season! 🙂
