Welcome to the KSP blog, a place where I share my work, wisdom, and a peek into my everyday life. I'm so glad you're here and hope you stay awhile!

Hi! I'm Kyla.

Oh friends, today’s post is a really good one! This New England farmhouse family session was one of my favorite snippets of October. The prettiest foliage dotted the drive to their home and the sun was sparkling through the trees. As if that was not picturesque enough, the sky was the perfect blue. And the air was crisp in a way that can only be found during fall in New England. My heart was filled to the brim before we even began!

As soon as I arrived, Eliza and Travis made me feel so welcome in their home. They purchased a charming farmhouse a few years ago and have been making it into the prettiest space ever since. From the hard work they put into creating their light-filled, cheerful kitchen to the furniture and decor, every detail hinted at their story. Eliza has such a gift for interior design and I’m already dreaming of recruiting her to help me decorate my home someday! I felt like I’d walked straight into the pages of Magnolia Journal when I entered their home!

Eliza and Travis are humble, friendly, smart, hardworking, and so easy to talk to. Teddy is the most smiley baby and was a dream throughout the entire session. He was dressed to the nines in a little oxford shirt, a detail my classic-style-loving heart noticed right away! Gus is the friendliest dog who was excited to be part of the session, happily wagging his tail the moment I arrived. And then there is Huey. Eliza and Huey grew up together and I could tell that it means the world to her to have a home for him on their property. He has been with her for a decade and a half and is the sweetest horse! It was precious to watch him interact with Teddy, as you’ll see below!

To the Goodspeed Family:

Thank you for choosing me to capture your very first portrait session as a family of three! You made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. I admire the life you are building together and the way you are making your house a beautiful home full of character for Teddy to grow up in. It was a joy to share the morning with you all, Gus and Huey included!
